Canterbury Science Outreach Education Network
The Canterbury Science Outreach Education Network was established as a result of a feasibility study funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation and managed by the Royal Society of New Zealand. It aims to facilitate links between schools and outreach providers. It is a resource for teachers to access range of programs to aid and support them in their science teaching.
Click on the document to the right for an outline of providers and activities.
It includes:
•Class visits
•Visiting speakers
•Field trips
•A list of organisations provide outreach activities which can be incorporated into your science programme

Rutherfords Den Update
Rutherford’s Den itself is currently closed and will be for quite a while. However, our education programme is thriving. We are currently based at Hammersley Park School in Shirley and can accommodate class visits here or we can visits schools and deliver our programmes on site. Most of what we originally offered can be tailored and taken on the road and feedback from teachers has been fantastic – and it is so much more convenient for them to have us at their school while the shakes are still happening.
Kind regards
